Greetings from Apsara Asia and Maya Dance Theatre!

The Theatre upcoming production The Legend, The Journey Begins… happening on August 1 and 2.

The Legend, The Journey Begins… explores the Ramayana through the cohesion of Asian dance vocabularies and contemporary dance theatre. One of our objectives of this performance is to present the epic in a relevant and accessible manner to the Indian community and general public alike and to provide an understanding of lesser known Asian cultural art forms through the show.

SYNOPSIS:

The Legend; The Journey Begins... narrates the Ramayana epic through music, dance, theatre and multi-media with a cast of more than 20 dancers. Enjoy a myriad of dance styles, including ethnic dance forms such as Bharatha Natyam and Wayang Wong Balinese dance theatre. Directed by Kavitha Krishnan, The Legend marks the first time a Singapore arts company explores Ramayana through the amalgamation of Asian dance vocabularies and contemporary dance theatre.
