Language Ability of Students

Are you a parent/ teacher/ caregiver to children between the ages of 3-12 or do u have family and friends who are parents/teachers/ caregivers to children between the ages of 3-12? Then this workshop is for you!

Research has shown that reading is not only correlated to language ability of students but also their overall academic achievement. Reading is also vital in today's knowledge-based global economy which is likely to be spear-headed by avid readers rather than non-readers. Hence, the reading habit must be instilled in children from a young age. Dr Chitra Shegar is an Asst Professor at the Centre of Research in Pedagogy and Practice, National Institute of Education. Her areas of specialization are language teaching methodology and reading instruction. She has served as a language consultant in both Singapore and Australia. She will be conducting this one day hands-on workshop to help parents/ teachers/ caregivers develop children into readers.

Enclosed with this e-mail is a detailed brochure and application form for this workshop.
